Helpful information prior to volunteering:

Gardening is scheduled in 30 minute intervals. We will confirm prior to your scheduled day(s)/time(s).

Dress appropriately for work in the garden.

Gardening tools-pails, shovels, watering cans will be provided. You may bring your own if preferred.

Feel free to bring a personal water bottle. A hat, sunscreen, and gardening gloves are recommended. Abilities in Bloom, Inc. does not provide gloves. **Abilities in Bloom, Inc. and it’s partners are not responsible for your personal belongings.

Bathrooms and sinks for hand washing are available on site.

If you are sick please stay home and contact Abilities in Bloom to reschedule for another day.

You must follow the park rules set forth by Majestic Park.

Volunteer work at the garden is subject to weather conditions. Rain before or during scheduled volunteer times may force a cancellation. Work will also be canceled in the event of extreme heat. Each volunteer should decide whether to work on a given day based on their personal limitations and comfort level.

Please be respectful of the work of others. Be careful when walking the garden to avoid destruction to previous plantings. Keep your pets out of the planting area.

The garden is located in the beautiful Majestic Park in Gardiner, NY. Feel free to bring a picnic lunch or an activity to enjoy after your volunteering is complete. The Park contains a playground, basketball court, picnic pavilion, disc golf and a skateboard park. Access to the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail is located on the park premises. You are also in walking distance of local town businesses.
